Why We Created Biotuff

Biotuff was born out of our shared belief that there had to be a smarter way to handle everyday waste. We embarked on a mission to create a solution: bags crafted from plant-based, compostable materials. By utilizing renewable resources such as cornstarch, our BioTuff bags minimize fossil fuel consumption during production. They break down naturally and cleanly within weeks when composted, avoiding the long-lasting environmental impact of traditional plastics. Plastic is a major problem for our environment, this was the driving force behind the development of Biotuff – to provide eco-friendly alternatives to everyday Australians. Reducing the plastic use of the future and healing the plastic problems of the past. 

We are a team of dedicated environmentalist with a love for compost and gardening. At Biotuff we know the real-time value composting can bring to gardens, vegetable patches and our local landscapes. Our team encourage families and local councils to make the step towards utilizing their waste to transform it into rich golden soil, while promoting the circular economy and regenerative agriculture. 

Did you know that a typical Australian family can reuse more than 300 Kilograms of waste each year through composting? That’s an awful lot of trash not ending up in landfills. In our dream world all plastic will be compostable, making it easier on the consumer to sort, and dispose of. Knowing that the plastic will not harm the earth, now or in the future.  

It's all about the research. Our products have not only been certified to the highest of standards, but also independently
verified for composting. The testing and research in this area is extensive –even the worms are tested to ensure the product does not affect our hardworking
earthworms during the breakdown process.
