    Packaging

    Reusable Tubes

    Our reusable Plastic Tubes are made from 100% PP post consumer recycled plastic (PCR).

    PP or polypropylene is one of the best plastics available. It's high density means that it doesn't leek chemicals, it doesn't contain BPAs and it's easily recycled.

    Why Plastic?

    There's already 1.8 Trillion pieces of plastic in the world. We'd like to put this resource to good use rather than bury it in a landfill. Our tubes are designed to be used for a number of years (rather than just once) after which, they can be recycled again.

    Recycled PP plastic also has one of the lowest carbon footprints during production (yes much lower than glass and aluminium) and it's lightweight so the footprint for shipping low.

    Cardboard Refills

    ASUVI's refills are made entirely from cardboard/paper products. The exterior is made from recycled cardboard and a specialty paper protects the deodorant stick on the inside.

    Disposal

    Blue Paper Bin: after you have refilled your tube you can place it in your Blue Bin for recycling.

    Compostable: If you tear your refill into smaller pieces it can be placed in your home compost.

    Shipping Packaging

    Each shipment is sent in a plastic free package and the shipping is Carbon Neutral.

    Our padded mailers are made from 100% Recycled materials and the padding is made from shredded newspapers.

    Promotional material and Instruction Cards are also made from recycled paper.

    Any tape used is paper based.

    Disposal

    Blue Paper Bin: after you have refilled your tube you can place it in your Blue Bin for recycling.

    1% for the planet

    There is only so much we can do in our operations so we give back to environmental initiatives that are accelerating the protection of our planet and people.

    We keep this commitment by being a member of 1% For The Planet and contributing 1% of total revenue to The Ocean Cleanup. If you haven't heard of them, the Ocean Cleanup are a not for profit working to remove 90% of ocean plastic through their Interceptors and passive cleanup solutions.

    We have also given to WWF Australia after the bushfires and to Foodbank Australia during the worst of the COVID-19 outbreak.

    Our Story:

    It started with an itch. A literal itch, caused by an aluminium deodorant in the summer of 2015. The experience sparked founder Thomas’s long overdue search for a natural deodorant. Unsatisfied by the lack of effectiveness, sophisticated scents and eco-conscious packaging, he eventually took matters into his own hands.

     ASUVI was started to create something better. By pairing natural science with enviro-conscious packaging we deliver effective products with refined scents in packaging that avoids unnecessary waste.

    We believe that the products we use should nurture our bodies and reduce the harm to the natural world on which we depend. It is why we created our bio-refill system, why we donate 1% of our sales to the planet and why we strive to do more every day.

    In 2018 we launched our effective base formula with 3 signature scents in the world’s first biodegradable refill for deodorant. We are bringing Australia the deodorant that is truly for Nature & Nurture.

    A Passion for the Environment

    Founder, Thomas Richard is an outdoor enthusiast & environmentalist who grew up by the sea, moved to the mountains at age 18 and has recently returned to Sydney’ beaches to start ASUVI. Our passion for nature is inevitable and so, as threats to the environment have grown so has our need to do something about it.

Plastic Neutral (or Positive)

Plastic Neutral (or better) should be a goal for ANY brand, but for these brands it is absolutely a MUST.

They have a strong focus on ensuring their entire business, supply chains and/or products put no additional plastic into our environment; or even better some are Plastic negative which means they extract more plastic from the environment than their brand creates.

Some minimise their use of plastic in products, some offset their small amount of plastic usage by supporting (or directly being involved in) frontline cleanup projects and others tackle the problem by avoiding virgin plastics through the use of recycled or upcycled plastic as their production resource inputs... however they address the problem these brands are all at LEAST plastic neutral.

Give Back

This focus type is for brands that "Give Back" a percentage of profits to support frontline projects, or commit their own team to lend a hand directly.

These companies are truly committing to their mission, by channelling a portion of their resources directly to fixing the problems that are adversly affecting the natural world; either via funds donated or supplying the people power to getting things done.

It may be that they are a member of "1% for the planet" or directly having team outings to collect plastic from our oceans and waterways... either way these brands truly are putting their best foot forward in the fight to help the world around us.

When a product is "Built to Last" it extends the amount of time required until product failure occurs, and a replacement is required to be purchased.
